August Activities 

Saturday, August 11, LFR Affair in White. You can still purchase tickets for the Loving Food Resources “Affair in White.” This is a great way to meet others in the community, show your support and have a great time. Here is the link for tickets

Sunday, August 19, Prime Timers Sunday Picnic and after Brewery Tour. We will meet at Carrier Park for a pot luck picnic. Members are asked to bring their favorite side, dessert or appetizer. We will provide plates, utensils, and items like chicken salad and vegan mainstay. Time: 2:00 PM 3:30- Leave for New Belgium and Brewery Tour 4:00 PM. 
We will continue socializing at New Belgium Tap Room and patio. The tour is optional (takes about 90 minutes with free beer tasting). If you would like to do the Brewery Tour (there is no charge) Reservations must be made. Once tour is filled, that is it.  Send in form at left for reservations.  Guests interested in joining are invited to attend. 

Future Trips and Activities: 
October 21 & 22 Sunday/Monday -DayTrip to Barter Theater. Preparations are being made for an overnight trip to Abingdon VA. And a performance of “Singing in the Rain” at the Barter Theater. We will leave on Sunday, October 21 for a 3:00 PM Matinee. Tickets are approx. $45 (less depending on numbers going. Complete details can be found on the Day Trips Page   
*** In order to go, we need your commitment by August 27. Enough seats are currently available, but not for long. Once you commit, we will let everyone know and purchase tickets in a block (individual credit cards can be used). October 25-28 or 26-28 (two or three nights) Carolina Prime Gathering in Myrtle Beach. Asheville Prime Timers are a part of Carolina Prime (a special grouping of Prime Timer chapters from North and South Carolina). See more at TRIPS
 If you would like to attend the gathering this year, please let Jerry know. I will help coordinate anyone traveling from Asheville Chapter. The accommodations include a two bedroom Condo unit which can be shared by two couples or 4 singles is $159.04 per night (including taxes) Reservation rate up to September is $80.00 per person. September 27, Thursday – “Tom of Finland” 
Remember those iconic images in the 60’s - 80’s of hunky butch men? Asheville Prime Timers is sponsoring the award-winning feature film “Tom of Finland” about the life of the author of those drawings. This special one-night only showing will be at the Grail Moviehouse 7:00 PM with a special after party at O.Henry’s at 9:00 PM. Asheville Prime Timers is bringing this to Asheville as a special fundraiser for our Blue Ridge Pride Festival and is a part of Blue Ridge Pride Festival Week.
